September poll results reported

By Sean P. Ray | Managing Editor

Wake me up when September ends. Oh, it’s already over? Well I guess that means it’s time once more to reveal the results of The Northside Chronicle’s weekly polls!

September is back-to-school month, so we kicked things off by asking if our readers have kids in school. This ended up as a four-way tie, with 25% of the vote going to “I have kids in multiple grades,” “I don’t have kids,” “No, they’re all out of school,” and “Yes, in middle school/junior high” each. Now, as a bit of mathematical homework, what does 25% times four equal?

Next up was a poll we had to run for two weeks due to some technical glitches. But it was a simple enough question: Did you have a good summer? It was a 50-50 result, as half of respondents said “One of the best” and the other half said “I’ve had better.” At least no one said it was one of their worst summers.

Finally, Sept. 22 was the official start of fall, so we asked what our readers’ favorite parts of the season were. It was another two-way split, as 50% said the changing leaves, and the other half picked the nebulous “other” category. I’m personally a little sad no one picked Halloween, as that’s my favorite part of autumn.

That brings an end to our poll results for this month. Check in with us in the November issue as we go over the October poll results. And don’t forget to vote in our weekly polls, posted every Sunday morning.
