Northside Mardi Gras kicks-off small business flavors, sounds of New Orleans

Northside Mardi Gras features specials and events at participating Northside small businesses. Below is a curated list of offerings that are available now through Tuesday, Feb. 25, unless otherwise noted. The official Northside Mardi Gras Fat Tuesday Party is a family-friendly event set to be held at the Allegheny Elks Lodge #339 beginning at 7 p.m. with live marching bands, performances, dancing, and crowning of the Mardi Gras King. Allegheny City Brewing: Cajun Cookoff Competition on Sunday, February 23rd from 1:30-3:30PM: Bring your favorite Cajun dish – Po Boy, Gumbo, Beignets, Jambalaya, etc. (Set up by 2PM.) “Like our past cook-offs, everyone here at the time tries the fares and votes on favorite. Prize for winner(s) at 5PM. No entry fee.”

Priory Fine Pastries: King Cakes (Pre-orders Only) on Monday, February 24th-25th and Beignets to Order, $8 for 6 pieces (6AM-2PM) for Fat Tuesday only.

Bistro to Go: Chef Alfredo, beloved former New Orleans chef, will be in the shop from 11AM-3PM on Fat Tuesday cooking up Creole classics such as Jambalaya, Curry Shrimp, Gumbo, Cajun Greens, and more!
