Northside Mardi Gras is in full swing with live music at Bier’s Pub, The Park House and special events at 3E Studios, Artist Image Resource and California Coffee Bar.

Thursday, February 8

Her Ladyship at Scratch F&B

The folk band, Her Ladyship will be playing every Thursday night at Scratch F&B in Troy Hill. The show starts at 9:30 p.m. and Scratch’s kitchen will have their late-night menu at 10 p.m. For more information visit the event’s FB page.

Drink & Ink at AIR

Artist Image Resource (AIR) will be hosting their monthly Drink & Ink event at 6 p.m. Attendees will be able to socialize while making prints and enjoy refreshments provided by AIR. Drink & Ink is $20 per person, for more information visit the event’s FB page.
 

Friday, February 9

“The Princess Bride” at Rangos Giant Cinema

The Rangos Giant Cinema at the Carnegie Science Center will be hosting a special screening of the 1987 classic “The Princess Bride.” The show starts at 7 p.m. and additional viewings will run through until Sunday, February 11. Southern Tier Brewing Co. Birthday Bash

Southern Tier Brewing Co. on the North Shore, will be celebrating their one year anniversary with a happy hour release for their new Coffee Blonde. The happy hour will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Southern Tier will also be hosting special celebratory events all weekend including a dessert pairing with Priory Fine Pastries on Saturday and a board game night on Sunday. Mardi Gras Party at 3E Studios

In part of Northside Mardi Gras, 3E Studios will be hosting a special Mardi Gras Party to commemorate their 10-year anniversary. Food, refreshments and entertainment will be provided. For more information visit the event’s FB page.

Sweetheart of the Barricades at The Park House

The alt-country, blues band, Sweetheart of the Barricades will be playing at The Park House from 9:30 p.m. to midnight. The show is free to attend, for more information visit the event’s FB page.

Live Music at California Coffee Bar

California Coffee Bar in Brighton Heights will be hosting live performances from Ups Mosley, Hank the Business Man and Jay Michaels. Shows start at 7 p.m. For more information visit the event’s FB page.

 

Saturday, February 10

Chet Vincent at Get Hip Records

Chet Vincent will be performing an album release show for his new solo album “Where The Earth Opens Wide.” Guests can also expect performances from Zack Keim and Kayla Schureman. Refreshments will be provided by Rock Bottom Brewery. Tickets are $12 and include a copy of Chet Vincent’s new CD, for additional information visit Get Hip’s event page.

Skywatch at Carnegie Science Center

Skywatch is back at the Carnegie Science Center. Guests can enjoy viewings from the Henry Buhl, Jr. Planetarium & Observatory and have a chance to see celestial sightings via the 16-inch Meade LX200 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. Skywatch has two showtimes at a 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., for additional information or to purchase tickets visit the Science Center’s event page.

Lunar New Year: Year of the Dog at the Children’s Museum

In association with the Silk Screen Asian Arts and Culture Organization, the Children’s Museum will be hosting a Year of the Dog celebration from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests can partake in calligraphy lessons, various crafts or join in a celebratory parade around the museum. Mardi Gras Madness at Bier’s Pub

In part of Northside Mardi Gras, Bier’s Pub will be hosting a performance from jazz pianist, Tom Roberts. The show starts at 7 p.m. For more information visit the event’s FB page.

Cupid’s Charity Undies Run

Cupid’s Charity is hosting their 1-mile(ish) race at McFadden’s on the North Shore. Participants will run a ‘brief’ race in their briefs and can enjoy live entertainment afterward. Dinnertainment! at the Pittsburgh Project

Pittsburgh Project will be hosting a special 3-hour dining event with live entertainment courtesy of Affordable Elegance Catering. Sunday, February 11

Breakfast in Bed: Rodeo Romance at the Mattress Factory

The Mattress Factory will be hosting a special Western-themed brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests can enjoy a Bloody Mary Bar, live music from The Beagle Brothers and visits from adoptable pets courtesy of Animal Friends. Food and refreshments will be provided by Black Radish Kitchen and War Streets Brewery. The event is 21-and-over; tickets are $30, for additional information visit the museum’s event page.

KID CITY Rockers Dance Party at the Children’s Museum

The Children’s Museum will be hosting a kid-friendly dance party from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. KID CITY Rockers’ DJ Kelly Mom will be spinning the records. For more information visit the museum’s event page.

Pancake Breakfast at Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish Church

Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish Church is hosting a pancake breakfast fundraiser for the Chimbote Foundation in Peru. The breakfast goes from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and is $5 for adults, $3 for children. For more information visit the event’s FB page.
