After a series of soft opens, Casellula @ Alphabet City will open Friday, January 20 to the public. Housed in the Masonic Building at 40 W. North Ave., restaurant owner Brian Keyser has centered the menu around cheeses that can be paired with an assortment of fine wines.
Keyser is the proprietor of Casellula Wine & Cheese Cafe in Manhattan and the Pittsburgh location is his second outside of NYC. The restaurant shares the first floor with the City of Asylum Bookstore, which opened last weekend and is home to the largest number of translated books in the United States.
City of Asylum led a hardhat tour of the building in May 2016 to show the progress of the $12.5 million project.
