Rotary plans Northside bar crawl

The Northside Rotary is planning its first Northside bar crawl next month in Historic Deutschtown.

On August 10 at 2 p.m., rotary and community members will meet at James Street Gastropub to kick off the bar crawl speakeasy style.

From there they’ll head to Max’s Allegheny Tavern, Key West, Peanutz and the Park House, before ending at an after party at the YMR Club.

Organizer and rotary president Erin Conley said Historic Deutschtown’s flat streets and condensed business district will make it a “shorter, more condensed bar crawl.”

The after party will feature a DJ and a buffet featuring classic bar food like nachos and soft pretzels.

Tickets will be $20 and will include a T-shirt. For tickets and information, contact Conley at [email protected]

Proceeds from the bar crawl will benefit an unannounced Northside charity.

A Toshiba TV will also be up for raffle.

The Northside Rotary Club is comprised of Northside business owners looking to improve the community through its four avenues of services—vocational, community, club and international.

In addition to the charity bar crawl, the rotary also donates dictionaries to Northside third graders and Kindles to high school seniors.

The rotary meets for lunch at noon the first three Fridays of the month at the North Shore Café, and the last Thursday of the month at James Street Gastropub.
