What: A Night of Recovery Comedy with Tim Grealish: A Benefit for The Oasis Recover Center & CLEAR
When: 8 p.m.
Where: The New Hazlett Theater
In an effort to provide a fun, sober evening for people in recovery from addictions, the New Hazlett Theater is hosting a comedy benefit with The Oasis Recovery Center and CLEAR, featuring Tim Grealish and other local comedians.
Tim Grealish headlines, tackling issues that people in recovery face every day in his standup. Grealish leaves no topic untouched, calling upon his outrageous experiences as a treatment professional and an interventionist to inspire his comedy. Tales of his journey to sobriety and life in recovery captivate audiences.
Stay after the event for fellowship and complementary dessert.
Saturday, October 6
What: The Fineview Step-a-thon Challenge
When: 8:30 a.m.
Where: Howard Street
Come take on The Step-a-thon Challenge, a 5-mile run and hike up the many stairs of the Fineview neighborhood. The course zips back and forth through Fineview, going up and down stairways and hills, following the Incline Trail, across the I-279 pedestrian bridge and finishes at the Catoma Street Overlook. Just following the trail is meant to be a challenge! Just look out for the orange flagging tape and directional arrows. If you manage to make it to the end, there’s a glass finisher’s award waiting for you.

What: Saturday Cleanup of Mexican War Streets
When: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Where: Mechanics Retreat Park, Jacksonia Street and Buena Vista Street.
Come lend a hand and help clean up the Mexican War Streets neighborhood. Kathy Deis, Greenspace Chair for The Mexican War Streets Society is leading a neighborhood cleanup of this historic area’s streets and green spaces to an effort to help preserve it. The Society provides tools, gloves and anything else you might need.
