New Hope for Neighborhood Renewal presents the fourth annual Sweet Night on the Northside, a concert and gourmet dessert fundraiser for the community development programs of NHNR featuring jazz pianist/composer Rick Gallagher and the soulful sounds of singer songwriter Joy Ike. Since its inception, N.H.N.R. has contributed to the community and economic development of the Marshall Shadeland neighborhood on the North Side of Pittsburgh, from building and rehabbing houses, to transforming a nuisance bar into The Cafe Creamery, to mentoring and preparing youth for the future. What: The Wizard of Ox Children’s Educational Exhibition
When: All day
Where: The Children’s Museum
This weekend will be the opening of The Wizard of Oz Children’s Educational Exhibition at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. Follow the Yellow Brick Road to the first-ever educational exhibit based on the beloved movie classic. Come over the rainbow with Dorothy and Toto on an exploration of the colorful Land of Oz. Journey from the sepia-toned Gale Farm to the vibrant Emerald City and experience the adventures of Dorothy and her friends. The exhibit will run from May 26 to September 2, 2012.
