Grushecky, who is best known for his work with the Iron City Houserockers, went on to a successful solo career as a musician and singer-songwriter, working with the likes of Bruce Springsteen.
Other than music, Grushecky is also a special education teacher, and has helped raise over $1 million for the Light of Day foundation, which funds research for possible cures for Parkinson’s disease, through performances and his role as an executive board member. Joe Grushecky
Saturday’s performance is free with general admission. The show will begin at 1 p.m.
Performances will be held every Saturday in August. Jill West and Greg Krupka of the Pittsburgh-based Jill West & Blues Attack band will perform Saturday, Aug. 23. The last performer has yet to be announced.
The BLUE! exhibit features blue foam blocks of all different shapes and sizes, allowing visitors to build and mold all types of different structures. The exhibit will run through Jan. 2015. For more information check out the Science Center’s official website.
